The MTN Dew Flavours the UK Is Going Crazy For - And Where to Actually Get Them

Let's be honest. The Mountain Dew you can find in a British supermarket if you can find it at all doesn't tell the full story.

There's a whole world of MTN Dew out there that most people in the UK have no idea exists. Limited editions, regional exclusives, wild flavour combinations that America has been enjoying for years while we've been stuck with whatever managed to trickle over. Baja Blast. Livewire. Code Red. Voltage. Dragon Fruit. These aren't rumours they're real, they're incredible, and we stock them.

We've made it our mission to be the one place in the UK where you can actually keep up with what MTN Dew is doing. New flavours, current flavours, the ones everyone's talking about we get them in, and we get them to you. That's the whole point.

A quick bit of background, because MTN Dew deserves it

Mountain Dew has been around since 1940, which most people find surprising. It started as a mixer for whiskey a hillbilly lemonade of sorts, created by two brothers in Tennessee who wanted something that went well with bourbon. The name came from a slang term for moonshine. So yes, this neon green soda with the extreme sports branding and the massive cult following started life as a cocktail ingredient in the American South. Brilliant.

PepsiCo bought it in 1964 and slowly turned it into what it is today one of the biggest selling soft drinks in the United States, with a flavour range that's expanded so aggressively over the decades that keeping track of it all is practically a hobby for some people. In the US, MTN Dew has released hundreds of flavours over the years, including limited runs, regional exclusives, fast food tie-ins, and collabs with everything from gaming brands to hot sauce companies.

In the UK, we get a fraction of that. Which is why we started importing the good stuff directly.

The USA imported cans — 355ml, straight from America

These are the real deal. Imported from the States, 355ml cans (that's 12fl oz for anyone keeping track), the exact same product you'd pull out of a gas station fridge in America. Here's what we've got right now:

Original. If you've never had a proper American MTN Dew before, start here. It's citrusy, sweet, and has that unmistakable sharp fizz that makes it so distinctive. The UK version exists but it's not quite the same — the American formula has a different character to it, and once you've had it side by side you'll know exactly what we mean.

Code Red. One of the most iconic MTN Dew variants ever made. Cherry flavoured, bright red, and genuinely one of the best things they've ever put in a can. It came out in 2001 and people have been obsessed with it ever since. If you've seen people go on about MTN Dew online, there's a decent chance Code Red is involved somewhere.

Voltage. Raspberry citrus with a hit of ginseng. It won a public vote back in 2008 to become a permanent flavour, which tells you everything you need to know about how good it is. Sweet, sharp, and slightly different from anything else in the range.

Livewire. Orange MTN Dew. Sounds simple, tastes exceptional. It's bold and citrusy in a way that orange sodas in the UK just don't manage to pull off. A proper fan favourite that flies off the shelves whenever we get it in.

Baja Blast. Right. If you know, you know. Baja Blast is the stuff of legend — originally created exclusively for Taco Bell restaurants in the US back in 2004, and for years the only way to get it was to walk into one. It eventually made it into cans, and now it makes it to us. Tropical lime flavour, that iconic teal colour, and a taste that has people genuinely obsessed. This is our most talked-about flavour without question. Get it while it's in stock.

Livewire. A bold, unapologetically orange take on MTN Dew that doesn't hold back. Citrusy and bright, it's one of those flavours that sounds simple on paper but completely wins you over on the first sip.

Dragon Fruit. Newer, and quickly building a following. It's sweet and tropical with that distinctive dragon fruit edge — a bit exotic, a bit different, and a great option if you want something that feels a little more adventurous than the classics.

Trolli. A collaboration with the Trolli sweets brand — if you've ever had Trolli sour worms, you'll have an idea of what to expect. It's got that sweet-sour thing going on in a way that genuinely works in a soda. Unusual and worth trying.

Dirty Cream Soda Dew. This one throws people. Cream soda and Mountain Dew don't sound like they should go together and then you try it and completely change your mind. It's sweet, it's smooth, it's got that slightly vanilla-ish cream soda thing happening underneath the classic Dew base. One of the more unexpected flavours we stock and one of the ones people come back for most.

The Malaysian bottles — 400ml, a different take on the Dew

Alongside the American cans, we also stock Mountain Dew imported from Malaysia. These come in 400ml plastic bottles and they're a slightly different experience the Malaysian formula has its own character, and for a lot of people it's a really interesting comparison to the US version.

We have three flavours in the bottles:

Original. Same name, different country, subtly different drink. Try it next to the American can if you're curious it's a fun experiment and the differences are more noticeable than you'd expect.

Blue Shock. A blue citrus blast that's become genuinely popular with people who try it for the first time. Sweet, a little sharp, and that vivid blue colour that makes it look brilliant in a glass over ice.

Pitch Black. Dark grape flavour with a bit of citrus underneath. It looks dramatic and it tastes it. Pitch Black has had a long history with MTN Dew it was originally a limited US release that got so popular it kept coming back and the Malaysian version carries that same bold energy.

Why we're the best place to get MTN Dew in the UK

We've stocked a huge number of Mountain Dew flavours over the years including limited editions that have since stopped being produced. If a new flavour drops in the US and it's worth getting hold of, we'll get it in. That's been our approach from the start and it's not changing.

The MTN Dew world moves fast. Flavours come and go, limited runs sell out quickly, and if you're not paying attention you miss them. We pay attention so you don't have to. Bookmark us, check back regularly, and you'll always know what's new and what's available.

Stock on certain flavours does run low particularly Baja Blast and Code Red, which go quickly every time we get them in. If something on this list is calling your name, don't sit on it.
